Well, I come from a small Midwestern town in the US. I feel as if I was born with travel in my blood; I am not satisfied staying in one place for too long. I am passionate about teaching and education. I hope to eventually teach English as a foreign or second language and get my Masters in TESOL.

I tend to be introverted and have no qualms being on my own. But if anything, this only increases my desire to dive into new places and get to know new people. Getting to know people is both an honor and pleasure; I love hearing people's stories because everyone deserves to be known. Traveling and experiencing new cultures has been mind-shaping and soul revealing. I hope to continue traveling and growing into a better version of myself til the day I die.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope Couchsurfing will be an opportunity to share myself with others and learn more about others. I believe culture cannot be fully understood without interacting with people who live in the culture and experiencing their lifestyle and listening to their story.

I want to meet new people, have grand adventures, and experience new cultures in a deep and rich way.

Interests

I am a bit of a nerd in all honesty. If you ever want to distract me just bring up Harry Potter, Star Wars, or Marvel comics. I am also currently obsessed with Hamilton (the musical written by the marvelous Lin-Manuel Miranda).

I also cannot turn down a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Pair those with some dark chocolate and deep conversation, and I will melt with happiness.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid reader so asking me to chose a favorite book is pure torture. There are just too many options. However, as I said before I truly love the Harry Potter books. I am adamant that they are skillfully crafted literature and deserve to be taught in schools. Some other books that I have read and reread are The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak, The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner, and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

I am not super picky in movies or music. However, I refuse to watch horror movies, and country music or metal music makes my ears bleed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not a particularly athletic person, so completing a 100 mile bike ride and a half-marathon still strike me as amazing.
