About Me
I am a 20-year-old guy from Denmark. I finished High School in the summer of 2015. I decided it was time to do something different before beginning my university studies. So I became an EVS-volunteer (European Volunteer Service) in Romania. I am going to spend a little less than a year here in Romania starting from November 2015. After that, I will begin on my university studies where I will be studying political science.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting new people as well as seing new places, exploring new cultures, and learning new things. And Couchsurfing contains the hold package as far as I can tell. So I think the only question is why I am so new on Couchsurfing and the honest answer - I didn't hear about this awesome concept until a couple of months ago.
Interests
I would say my interests are quite diverse.
Politics is one thing I am very interested in and want to study. So I'm always up for a quick debate - but on a friendly level of course! And history as well. The two areas are kind of connected so I guess it goes without saying that following politics also means an interest in history.
Philosophy is another area that grasped my attention many years ago and stuck. Plato, Nietsche, and Kant are among my favourites but people like Camus, Sartre, Marx (to some extent I would consider him a philosopher) never go out of style!
Also football of course! Huge Liverpool supporter and Brøndby supporter (Danish team). In general just a fan of the game. The Premier League and the Bundesliga are my favourites but I also follow Spanish, Italian, French, and Dutch football to some extent.
To round up the sport interests I also follow biathlon and handball but not too closely. I have practised football and badminton for several years as well and always love to cycle.
And if you would like to show me some of your local beer, I am definitely up for it! I appreciate the taste of beer and each nation's traditions for brewing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big fan of music although I never learnt to play an instrument - one of my biggest regrets. Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, Metal, and some electronic music (mainly Dubstep and Drum n' Bass) are all genres I appreciate.
Among favourite bands/artists I would name David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Peter Tosh, Sleep, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, The Beatles, The White Stripes, and Chase & Status.
I love exploring new music and going to concerts. And festivals of course!!
I am also a big fan of movies. My favourite movie will always be "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" but I am definitely not limited to that genre. Tarantino, Scorsese, del Toro, and Christopher Nolan are among my favourite directors.
Concerning books I mainly read non-fiction. Books about historical periods and political issues in particular. Also philosophical books like Plato's "Republic" have my interest. But from time to time I read fiction as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen the sitcom "Friends" over 50 times and once managed to spent a whole night in a pub while only drinking one beer. I think the two are equally amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn some Danish, I'll happily teach you some but fair warning - it is not the easiest pronunciation. I can also teach you a bit about the Northern Mythology and Vikings if that has your interest.
I will gladly share some of my favourite bands/artist, movies, and books with you. And also the other way around - try listening to some of your favourites, watching some of your favourites, and read some of your favourites. I am also a great person to share an evening with. A couple of beers and some nice music in a pub and everything is good!
