My name is Cécile, I'm French. I grew up in Aix-en-Provence. I just finishied my studies in Material Science. About to start a phd, to study how glasses are colored using copper (ancient stained windows, ceramic glazes)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My parents are Couchsurfing pioneers. We have been hosting Couchsurfers since I was 12, and I absolutely love that! It is such a great way to meet interesting and fun people. We had so many people stay at our place, it was really nice. We where hosted several times as a family as well. My parent's profile is «Jean et Laurence» in Aix-en-Provence :

I love sketching and pencil-water painting, reading fantasy, but also playing the piano, and theatre.
I like designing and sewing my own clothes, discovering new places, and meeting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love romantic classical music (Chopin, Brahms...), and pop/rock (Imelda May, The Noisettes, Suzanne...) and many more musical styles

My favorite movies are all the japanese animated motion pictures by Miyazaki.

I like fantasy and SF novels (Terry Pratchett, J-P Jarowski...). Also, I discovered a comic illustrator named Bastien Vives recently : his work is amazing! I drew a anime-like french comic saga named Lastman, check it out!

I am part of a program of science popularisation in a kindergarten in Paris.
The teacher and I bring out experiments to make the kids aware about what is the AIR. ☁🌫The class is linked to the story of Icarus, for they have worked the whole year on Greek mythology.
