About Me
Hi!
I'm Raquel Hidalgo, a graduate at Law. I was born and raised in Ecuador until I was 17, then I decided to move to Spain to study my degree. I'm about to graduate in a couple of months from my Master in Human Rights.
I'm passionate about human rights and I'm willing to be more active in this sense. I'm a vegetarian since a couple of years ago. I really enjoy cooking and eating! I also like to practice sports as much as I can (I go with my bike everywhere!)
I find extreme joy through spiritual development. I'm a reiki practitioner and hopefully I'll enroll in yoga classes very soon.
I love to meet new people and understand different point of views. I really believe that everyone we meet has something to teach us.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The experience of being surrounded by people with so diverse backgrounds is something I truly enjoy. Moreover I consider that with these type of experiences we can learn so much and be prone to be less judgmental. Traveling is so much more than a location; it's a whole experience that contains a considerable portion of other elements that escape to maps and geography.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music bands: Guns N' Roses (my favorite one!), Metallica, Coldplay, RHCP, Kiss, Queen, Velvet Revolver, Arctic Monkeys. My last discovery: Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown (you should listen to them! They are awesome!)
Classical music, Merengue, Salsa, Bachata (I love to dance!)
I played the bass and violin in a band during my teenage years, so I really enjoy music and art as a whole. I consider that art in all its expressions is gold, and I frankly consider that it gives a different perspective of what we do in life.
Movies: Le Choristes, The Help, The Danish Girl.
Books: Tuesdays with Morris (this had such a great impact on me!), Into the Wild (this masterpiece brought so much inspiration into my life!)
Autors: Gabriel García Márquez, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Charles Dickens, George Orwell, Isabel Allende, Laura Esquivel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had some amazing experiences, one of them was bungee jumping from a bridge in Baños (a little town in Ecuador), and snorkeling with sharks in the Galapagos Islands. I also scuba dive in Ecuador and had quite a mystic and special experience with humpback whales.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really enjoy talking about anything; have a coffee and just talk.
I love to learn new things, so whatever people are willing to share with me, I'm grateful.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a really cheerful person, very open minded and willing to share my life experiences such as my reiki practice, studying Law and Human Rights, traveling across South America.
