About Me

Hey!

I'm Stefanie, a 21 years old student and just a girl with soaring dreams.
I live in a small village in western Germany and study history and archaeology at university Mainz.

I'm tolerant, clean, spontaneous, adventurous and a non-smoker!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world, gain more trust in people, find new friends all around the world and have unique experiences.
I think couchsurfing will be really interesting and can help getting to know the local cultures of the places I visit!
I also would like to show you around my place here.

As Tolkien said:

"I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see

For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green"

Interests

I love art! My hobbies include drawing, painting and photography (especially nature, animals and architecture!). I also do cosplay (sewing, make up, ...) and visit conventions as Comic Con Germany or MCM London Expo.

I adore long walks through nature or cities. There is always so much to see, sweet smelling flowers and wild animals, interesting people and beautiful sunsets.

And as you can assume from my study paths I'm very interested in history. Therefore I often go to museums, read many books about it and have fun at medieval markets.

Travelling for sure is an important part of my life, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I particularly kept in good memory my student exchanges to France and Japan, two journeys on which I've learnt a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I travelled to London with two friends by bus. One way took a least 15 hours.
We went there over New Year's Eve and it was such a crazy journey, I can tell!
At first we missed our ferry, because the bus driver has been stopped by the police, later in London our bus driver couldn't find the right bus stop, so we jumped out of the bus in the middle of nowhere. We had to find our way through endless streets to an underground station.
The day was stormy, our umbrellas flew away. The rain was coming down in sheets and we met some friends from Germany in a big Comic Shop, what an odd coincidence. We didn't even know they were in London at the same time!
8 hours before the fireworks started we found a nice spot to wait and watch opposite to the London Eye. We waited and waited, our feet hurt, around us have been so many Indians dancing, the music was great!
10 minutes before the firework started, the rain stopped, it was amazing. This firework has been by far the coolest I've ever seen, my heart pounded as if it would burst. It was incredible and absolutely worth the wait.
Afterwards we searched our bus, because 4 o'clock should have started the journey back. It was so chaotic! There were so many busses, we asked were our tour guide was and no one knew. We called her with our phones, nobody answered. To cut a long story short, the bus has been driven away without us and some others! But came back later and we managed to come back home safe. That was an adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you German and I want to learn other languages. I want to practice my English, Japanese and French.

We could also go outside and do some "photo-walks", visiting nice places and taking awesome pictures!

And I can tell you some funny or interesting facts about history and would appreciate to learn something new myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My language, funny stories, my passion to travel and a place to sleep!
