Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Christian and I'm currently a student at Michigan State University! I am a sophomore studying to achieve my undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Global Studies with a minor in Japanese. I have been studying the Japanese language for two years and although I am not fluent I believe I am proficient enough to handle day-to-day functions and conversations.
Growing up I have always had a strong interest in culture and language. I strive to appreciate the immense diversity of our world, and come to understand lives that are lived differently from my own.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am currently on Couchsurfing because I will be studying abroad in Japan this summer and would like to spend a week traveling before my courses start. I think that the best way to learn about any culture is not to stay in a hotel and view the 'typical' sites but rather to live as the locals do. I think Couchsurfing will be a great opportunity to integrate myself into Japanese culture and also be a great way to practice my language skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts
For two years I studied photography and am now a certified, professional photographer. As a way to say thank you for hosting me I will send you a free 8x10" photographic print of your choosing from my time in Japan, or any other image you would like from my portfolio (excluding portraits). I can assure you that you will receive a high quality image that will make a great center piece on your wall. You can see my portfolio here: https://www.behance.net/chrokeefe
Additionally, I would gladly spend half an hour each day that I am staying with you to help around the house, clean up, help with chores, etc.
