About Me

My life has changed much since my travels. I guess that's because I want to live my final years with security and comfort. However, I still want to live life to the fullest. That's why I became a teacher and take advantage of 2 whole summer months. I've been over 50 countries, just traveling around like a true vagabond; hitching-hiking, pitching my tent just about anywhere and meeting the nicest people ever. My traveling highlights, I must say, was when I was in the Middle-East. I guess with all that's going on there now, is almost impossible. I've travelled everywhere in Syria and miss that country dearly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to attend a course in Winnipeg that lasts 2 weeks. I don't want to stay at a motel bored with no one I can share my interests with. I'm hoping that someone out there can host me, with whom I can share different languages and my past experiences.

Interests

I love to watch non-fiction movies and discuss them later. I love to play board games with people who love them. Love to make music and sing together. Just love to hike in the woods and mountains. Of course, teaching is my passion.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like about everything, but have a difficult time enjoying RAP. Depending on my mood, I like to listen to rock music or classical music. I love the 60/70 rock times like Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple to name a few. In the early 90s, I really got into Grunge music. Love to listen to Pearl Jam. Jazz is also on my list like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered in a refugee camp during the war in Bosnia and the surroundings - November 1993.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess we can all share what we believe in when it comes to politics, religion and general philosophies about life, but keeping in mind knowing the limitations we expect with all respect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As Louis Armstrong sings,

The colors of the rainbow,
So pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces,
Of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands.
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying,
"I love you".
