Overview
About Me
I am a 23-years-old girl currently studying environmental law in Strasbourg. I used to live in Lille (Northern France) as well as in Germany (Münster and Berlin) in the last couple of years for the purposes of studies. I really enjoyed it since I love Germany and the German language!
However, I am also interested in the nordic countries and I'm learning Swedish (jag talar pyttelite svenska) as well as Italian at the moment!
I am a little bit shy and that's why I am not doing Couchsurfing for long. But I am trying everyday to "improve" it, maybe with couchsurfers? But I am very curious of people and their lifes, and I enjoy listening to their stories.
During my holidays I want to travel mostly in France and Europe. I am dreaming of discovering New Zealand, Madagascar and Réunion, the U.S. national parks... but I try to avoid flying because of its consequences on climate change (there are already amazing things to see and people to meet right at my doorstep!). I am waiting in general for new experiences and to discover a country with its people and daily life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've already done Couchsurfing with my mother when I was a young teenage girl and really enjoyed the experiences we had. For me Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to discover a country and its culture (and not to stay in a boring hostel!). I am doing Couchsurfing to share the small things in the dailylife which make a real travel experience.
I can't host at the moment because I am living in a small room in Strasbourg. As soon as I have a room larger than 10 square meters, I would be glad to welcome you!
But Couchsurfing does not merely mean travelling for free, that's a way to meet nice people and there is a "Couchsurfing spirit" that I am sharing too.
Interests
Cooking, watching movies/ documentaries, listening to the radio, going to a concert or a photography exhibition, reading, scuba diving, wandering in nature and rural areas (a lot!), picking edible plants/ fruits/ mushrooms/ nuts, cleaning up the beaches and coastlines of my beloved native region (Brittany).
I would be happy to talk about politics (especially about environmental/ queer/ socio-economic/ legal issues, ecology in the broad sense). I am very interested in animal rights too. However I am still very tolerant.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie (for almost 15 years) is Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki. You should definitely watch it! The classic movies of my childhood are for example The Young Girls of Rochefort by Jacques Demy or Big Fish by Tim Burton. I really like watching the danish television series Borgen.
As a nordic countries enthusiast, I love the Millenium saga and try at the moment to read it in Swedish. I also really like The World According to Garp (John Irving) or some french books such as the Incurable Optimists' Club (Jean-Michel Guenassia).
I'm passionate about political ecology and some critical authors such as Günther Anders, André Gorz, Jacques Ellul, ecofeminists etc.
I like to listen the music of Kings of Convenience, Agnes Obel, The Beatles, Hocus Pocus or Neil Young. I really like jazz, bossa nova and funk. I particularly enjoy listening to film soundtracks (Garden State, for example).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few years ago, my mother and I were hosted by CS-farmers in Auvergne (a french rural area surrounded by mountains). We woke up in the middle of the night to see a cow give birth to her calf. A unique and unforgettable experience!
I dream of doing alone the Pacific Crest Trail in the U.S. That's a trail between Mexico's border and Canada's border (more than 4000km). Very long but so exciting (and scary at the same time...)!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're interested in recognizing (and cooking, if you trust me!) wild and edible plants or picking berries and mushrooms in nature, I could be the right person :-)
I can also "teach" you French as I did with high school students (I used to be French language assistant in Germany).
What I Can Share with Hosts
My smile, my curiosity and unpretentiousness! Share a meal, discuss about everything, hang out to drink beers, take a walk or show you the place where I grew up, Brittany.
In a nutshell: learning about our differences and experiences but sharing the same values (tolerance and curiosity).
