About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to go on a research internship in Munich, Germany. My hope is to conduct research in some area of Algebra - bear with me, I have not picked. While I am there, I would like to take an opportunity to travel, learn the language and get to know locals and their customs better.

If all goes well, I would be departing to Germany on April 2017. On the mean time, I want to learn more about the wonderful world of Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I adore exploring diverse music genres and spend a great deal of time looking for interesting mixes. Some of my favourites include John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Bonobo, Cafe Tacvba and The Beatles.

Movies: Kill Bill vols 1,2, Melancholia, Big Fish.

Books: I Am That.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Writing a program in C for a research project I was assigned as an undergraduate student. I had 16 weeks to write it but the catch was that my programming skills in C were practically null by the time I was assigned this project.

I was able to complete the program, which my former supervisor then debugged and successfully ran. A few weeks later he shared with me the program's results and interpretation of the Mathematical conjecture we were working on. As far as I know the conjecture is still unsolved, but I learned a great deal from this experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Currently, I am learning web development tools, so that my next few months will be spent learning about html, CSS and Java. I am also currently learning the art of facilitating a good workshop. My goal is to build an online platform for synaesthetes to connect, share and explore synaesthesia.

I am also interested in facilitating exploration of the world of synaesthesia through a series of workshops. Workshop information will be posted of course on this website, and it is meant to help reach out those interested in this neurological condition.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can prepare delicious meals for up to 15 people and clean up during and after cooking. As I was born in Mexico, I am a natural at cooking mexican dishes but since cooking is something I really love doing for others, I have learned techniques, tips and tricks from the people I have met during my traveling in Canada and Europe.
