Hi, I'm Kamila! I'm a researcher on energy transition diplomacy in London, where I also spend my time dancing salsa and bachata and eating lots of amazing food. My life goals include forging a healthier relationship between humans and the planet, becoming an amazing dancer, and just continuously learning, be it through books, people, places, or food. I love to travel whenever I get the chance- it's pretty much my biggest distraction. I prefer travelling alone, as it allows me to meet new people and really engage with them. I've met so many amazing people this way, and still meet up with some of them when I get a chance. l am very outgoing and curious to discover new places, new people, and their creations.

I want to meet new people and to learn and gain new experiences through them. I haven't really lived in a space where I could host people in the past, but I would love to do it once I settle down. For now, I would love to meet locals wherever I travel and to learn something from them about their country, culture, and about them as individuals. I like to talk and I find a great deal of things interesting, so I'm happy to share, listen, and learn!

Musica, film e libri

I enjoy a variety of musical genres, including Latin American music like Son Cubano (think Buena Vista Social Club). As a child, I watched Argentinian telenovelas and developed a love for the Spanish language, so any music that features it is usually a yes from me! I also like classical music, including playing it! Besides these, you would find me listening to folk, rock, and some oldies like Abba.

In terms of books, I have recently been leaning more towards non-fiction, with authors such as Yuval Harari. I have also enjoyed French existentialist novels, eighteenth-century philosophical and libertine literature, French, Russian, and British classics of the nineteenth century, and some twentieth-century dystopian works. My favourite book of all time is Gone with the Wind.

Films and series- I like a bit of everything!

I lived off-grid in a jungle in Costa Rica for a month, in a house with no external walls, so fully submerged in nature. It was extremely remote, so no tourists, and only small numbers of locals- imagine having pristine tropical beaches to yourself, where you can swim at sunset every day (or under the full moon); or lying in a hammock after a yoga session, and watching the hummingbirds in the heliconia plants (which I loved so much, I got both tattooed on my body).

I can share my insights into the countries I've lived in and studied (UK, Poland, Russia, France, Switzerland, and some others). I can offer interesting conversation about a variety of topics, possibly in different languages (I really need to practice some of them, it's been a while!)
