About Me

Hi future friends! I'm a young graduate student from southern California doing postgraduate research in England. I am an avid songwriter and musician; guitar, keyboard, bass, and the computer are typically my artistic mediums. I love to read, write, and draw recreationally, as well as have rich conversations about the important and interesting things in life- art, love, culture, history, films, music, politics, and so on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet new people with whom to exchange memorable experiences. I love conversing about the similarities and differences between cultures and topography. I think allowing fun, open minded locals to guide my experience in their area is humbling and the best way to experience the wonders of their world. Not to mention, roles may reverse and a host of mine may find themselves by the beach in southern California or in England, where I'd love to have a place for them!

Music, Movies, and Books

Frank Ocean, Radiohead, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Kanye, James Blake, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Mac Miller, Silvio Rodriguez, Tame Impala, Young the Giant...a short list of my many musical interests.

I love many genres of film, especially films that make me think. If I leave a film and take it with me, or I feel inspired (to write a song or otherwise) it did its job.

I love books, though most of my reading these days is academic. I used to love Bradbury and other classics. Recently I've gotten into non-fiction audiobooks, they have so much to offer. One recommendation is Yuval Harari's A Brief History of Humankind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to run 120 mile weeks :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer...

• A musical experience (I am travelling with a small guitar)
• Friendship
• Help with couchsurfing in California
• An opportunity for a foreigner to see the wonderful place you live in with a brand new lens.
• Open mindedness
• Good conversation
• A workout buddy- I used to run at a highly competitive level for my university- now I'm happy with a hike, a jog, or more.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share knowledge about where I grew up, I can play and teach guitar, and perhaps treat my gracious hosts to a meal!
