That’s me Hakan, I am a curious nomad that travels to expand my hunger for life! I was born and raised in Gaziantep, southeast of Turkey. I lived here until I finished high school. Then I moved to Istanbul for university to be a dentist. My life started to change after this point.On the one hand, I was trying to become a doctor, on the other hand, I was trying to get to know myself and grow in a city full of colorful history like Istanbul. I've been traveling somewhere ever since. I traveled to different countries that interested me during university. Backpacking in the Balkans,in the Italy , Norway, Spain, hitchiking in İran, Morocco and Egypt.After graduating from İstanbul University as a Dentist in 2018, before I'm thrown into grown up working life I have decided to explore South East Asia to learn about new ways to live and think. I traveled there for a year I spent most of this time working on a variety of volunteer jobs. I spent the last six months of this trip doing a bike tour. I have traveled 4000 km in total on a bicycle. It was the time I felt most alive in my life. I dedicate my travels to sharing, learning and providing for people, animals and nature. I've been enjoying to volunteer for over 5 years. When travelling, my favourite things to do are explore nature through hiking and wild swimming. I care a lot about the environment and am passionate about finding new ways to live more sustainably, as well as thinking of global solutions to climate change. I also love to explore the history and culture of the area and cities. I am well travelled and make friends with people from different backgrounds easily. and Now I am traveling around Latin America.I want to stay as long as possible and want to start my volunteer life and learn things, get new abilities, learn Portuguese and Spanish ,get to know new communities and people. The most important to help other people and share.

Что привело меня на Couchsurfing

Actually the best reason to be on the road, is knowing people for me. When ı travel somewhere and when ı spend my time with local people, ı can understand deeply the culture. This is so important for me. I won most of my best friends from couchsurfing. Because they understand me, we can share the one of the big desire of travelling. In the cities if ı could try to tell them why ı am on the road, they totally find me so funny and they dont understand.
We can understand each other in couchsurfing:) The big family which has perfect and simple people:)

Where do I begin. I've had an adventurous spirit my whole life. It's made me completely open minded to all cultures, religions & philosophies. Learning daily is essential. I'm easy going and get along with everyone. I love travel and adventure, art, , photography, ocean life, gardening & permaculture, cooking, surfing, skateboarding, philosophy, zen, minimalism, music, a good sense of humor, bushcraft, survival skills, primitive teachings, astronomy, natural living and natural medicine, wanderlust and making new friends and memories. Life is rad!
