About Me

Hi there!

I’m Anil, originally from Istanbul and now living in Munich, where I recently completed my Master’s degree and am pursuing a PhD in Byzantine Studies. Traveling is one of my greatest passions—not just for discovering new places, but for connecting with incredible people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an art history and Byzantinistik enthusiast, I adore exploring old cities, wandering through historical sites, and uncovering the stories behind them. Whether it’s the rich architecture of a medieval church or the lively streets of a modern city, I’m always seeking to learn and share.

Outside of academia, I’m all about 80s music, dancing, and engaging in deep conversations about everything from the universe to art, society, and politics—conversations that can stretch late into the night and leave you with a sense of wonder.

To me, Couchsurfing isn’t just about finding a place to stay; it’s about connecting with people who feel like they belong in my future. It’s an amazing opportunity to share adventures, exchange stories, and create bonds that transcend borders. I love everything about it!

Looking forward to meeting new friends and making memories that last a lifetime.

Interests

Dancing until I can't anymore, cinema and its history (very passionate about this), space-time and time-travel related discussions and (regardless of the time-consuming content) politics!
