About Me

Hi there,
I'm a chef, learning my trade by going and seeing how it's done rather than sitting at home and reading about it!

My home is Glasgow, Scotland, in my opinion one of the most beautiful countries in the world and and when I'm not in the kitchen you can find me hiking and camping in the Highlands and Islands!

I've been traveling and learning languages since I was 17 and I've not lost the bug yet! I've travelled and worked a bit all over Europe and South America and I've got a fair few stories to tell!

Also I am literally zero maintenance. I've camped and hiked enough to be happy sleeping almost anywhere!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've only just joined Couchsurfing as I normally have stayed in hostels or camped but having met so many people who've recommended it that it was time to give it a try!

Interests

Food, obviously! Even though I spend most of my days cooking I never lose interest and am always happy to share and learn more about different cuisines!

When I'm not cooking I'm normally outside, hiking, camping, running or even just gardening!

That aside I have a fascination for languages and I'm always trying to learn another! I'm always happy to help people with the languages I speak and always keen to practice those I don't!

Music, can't cook without music!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything really! Ive always got my eyes and ears open for new music, films and books. Oh, one exception is any mass-produced, main-stream stuff, life's too short for that crap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping at 4000m in the Andes is pretty special. And cooking for a Michelin starred chef. One or the other!

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel like I'm repeating myself but food, food and more food! Ask me and I will share what I know. Share what you know and I will learn!

The same goes for languages, we can never know enough! And no one will ever know them all!

If you come to Scotland of course I'd take you out hiking into the Highlands and, of course, share a whisky to chase out the cold!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, languages and stories. Fortunately those things go well together! If you have me to stay you can rest assured that as long as you have a pot, I'll make something delicious and we can sit around sharing stories and language is never truly a barrier!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland
