I'm an English teacher and translator. I love animals, especially cats and everything small (think hamsters, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and the like). I'm a big fan of nature, lakes, forests, meadows, BUT I also love cities :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my students once asked me why I didn't travel since there are so many opportunities for it now and I honestly didn't know what to answer. It's true I didn't use to travel a lot, but that question triggered something in my head and since then I've been growing more and more curious about the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

My all-time favorite books are Raymond Chandler's series about Marlowe. I love coming back to Hayao Miyazaki's films, especially "Porco Rosso", which made me wanna see Italy (still haven't been there, though). I love listening to Kate Bush, Love, Tim Hecker, Pat Metheny, old-school and modern jazz, minimal techno (Four Tet, Pantha du Prince), an occasional indie band (Fleet Foxes, Animal Collective).

I can teach you some English if you need more advanced knowledge (my level is C2, I graduated from The School of English at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan).

I can show you how to make perfect pancakes and give you a recipe for fermented cucumbers, a traditional Polish snack a bit different than pickles. I can also teach you some tongue-twisting Polish words (and I'd love to practice your tongue-twisters in return).
