Hi! I am WON EUI HONG from South Korea. When you call me, you can just call me 'wonny'.
I've been studying at KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), major in knowledge service engineering (you can imagine recommendation system.. my research area was analysing data on the web, and improving service performance to users.. that's why the name of major is called 'knowledge service').
and got the bachelor's degree at Sungkyunkwan university, major in computer engineering and mathematics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After I've graduated from MS degree, I worked as researcher for 5 months at the lab where I've graduated. So I was on the rail to start a career as a researcher.. However, I felt that somewhat boring, and the most important reason I've started my journey is, to make myself open to other people and to stand by on my own feet.

Interests

I am interested in 'how people learn'.
My dream is making my own theory of learning. It's a generalised form so that anyone can implement it into their lives.

Therefore, as an life-time experiment, I am teaching myself several foreign languages like Japanese and German, and musical instruments like guitar and piano, programming and math. Well, my interests is just one, but it covers all the fields what is 'learnnable'.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Harry Potter series. Though now it's a way old trend, I've taught English to myself by reading the book again and again.
I like playing guitar and piano, and like acoustic instrumental music.
I like movies in SF's of robots like transformers, and somewhat inspiring ones like 'Good will hunting', or 'the death poet's society'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done? is that fact that I've started this1-year journey.
I was nervous at first time, and I am still in the beginning stage, this decision to having traveling is the most amazing thing I've ever decided.

Teach, Learn, Share

[Teach]
Since I am Korean, of course I can teach Korean language. You know, I am pretty good at writing, so I can share how to write articles in formal Korean.
If you are not good at playing Guitar and piano, I can teach you some chords to learn easily.
And If you've never experienced how to make a computer program, I can also tell you how to start it!
And If you feel hard to studying calculous and basic mathematics problems, I can teach you.

[Learn] I would like to learn your culture, foods, language, and thinking.

[Share] I can cook several Korean foods like Tteokbokki and Bokkeumbap.
I would like to share my life-long dream, and hope to listen yours.
