About Me

Hi there fellow traveller!

I'm just another free spirited backpacker/hitchhiker thirsty for adventure around here!👋🏻 rlly enjoy meeting people, love hearing travel stories and getting inspired by them, learning new languages and about new cultures or politics, even if my adhd ass has never been a good student. What I surely do the best is being cheerful and talkative, nice to meet you! :) 🏳️‍🌈

"We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic to creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything." -dunno who's quote is that, but I strongly relate to it haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here bc I want to meet up ppl from all around, and maybe create beautiful connections along the way, which share the same Couchsurfing spirit as I do :) some good friendships I value a lot today, originated on Cs!
One of my dreams is to travel around the world visiting friends :D

Interests

As a teacher I'm passionate about alternative education, daydreaming about leaving everything behind and build a self-suficient eco-village somewhere lost in the wilderness with some friends (dreaming is free, right?), I'm also very interested on politics, feminism, ecology, culture and old-school home remedies lol (it's a shame we're losing this ancestral knowledge).
I love hiking and spending time in nature too, love animals, drinking tea and absolutely love veggie food. Besides that, I love everything related with arts & crafts, I'm quite a bit of a craftaholic!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a need in my life. For many years, I've been asking ppl I met while travelling to share some music from their country with me, I have a huge multinational playlist now :D
I can listen to everything, some examples: Folk, rock, grunge, punk, indie, pop, funk, techno, psytrance, hardcore, metal, psychedelic, blues, shoegaze, ... and about cinema...ghibli films are my forever comfort movies. Other masterpieces, in my opinion, are: Inception, The fight club, Cloud atlas, Amelie, Into the wild, The Handmaiden, The big fish

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

▪️ I fulfilled my childhood dream of traveling to Japan when I was 19, I went as a volunteer to help in a sort of orphanage, and I came back the next year to visit the friends I made there :)

▪️ I became TEDx Kazimierz (Krakow) ambassador, which sounds cool enough to mention, at my 22y/o

▪️In the same year, I did my first longer distance solo hitchhiking trip (from Krakow to Prague)

▪️ Hiked in the Himalayas! (Langtang and Gosaikunda trek) after a whole year being a couch-potato lol

▪️ I have experienced -45°C in Lapland, even the huskies were freezing their paws 🥶

▪️ I did a season as a glacier guide, thanks to meeting a friend on couchsurfing, who smuggled me for free on a few of his glacier hike tours in Iceland, pretty awesome office to work in, tbh

▪️ Hitchhiked about 700km in 2 days to go witness a volcanic eruption, on my days off, while living in Iceland 🌋 (first time for me, but for icelnacers it's just a regular sunday plan lol)

Teach, Learn, Share

My biggest interest is cultural exchange, language, skills, experiences, and everything else in between, u wanna share with me! In exchange, I'll share the same back :)
I can teach you how to crochet, how to curse in Spanish, how to prepare the catalan national dish, how to identify systems of opression and unionize against your boss, among other unique and completely useful skills to have lol

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer guided tours of wherever I happen to be living whenever you ask me :) (if working schedule allows) or just a nice hang out, long deep conversations about everything and nothing at the same time, I can cook "tortilla de patatas" and take you out on an adventure to my hobbit-refuge in the mountains
