About Me

My name is Iva and I'm a 22-year-old chemistry student at Faculty of Chemistry in Maribor.
I'm an openminded person who always has a smile on her face. I love meeting new people and learning about their cultures.
I also love traveling (obviously), trying new food, wine tasting, tea and chocolate.

Ever since I was little, I always kept saying to all the people around me, that I don't want to live in Slovenija. Now don't get me wrong. Slovenija is one of the most beautiful countries in the world! However, it never felt like home here. I always felt like I belong somewhere else. I used to read books about the countries, their flags, people, and their cultures from all around the world.

As soon as I was old enough to travel alone, I decided I was going on the Eurotrip all by myself. There are not enough words to describe what emotions I felt, how happy I was, how many new things I've learned, and how many new amazing people I met while traveling.

When I successfully finished 1st year of UNI with excellence I decided to go on a vacation to Berlin with my best friend. There I met the man of my dreams, with who I also got married later on in my life. His name is Nick Gaglia and he is a filmmaker from L.A. We're celebrating our 1st year wedding anniversary this year and because our lives were pretty hectic until now and we finally have some time for ourselves we decided to go on a 4 month honeymoon :)

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Honestly, I listen to everything :) It really depends on my mood. My all-time favorite band is, and will probably forever be, without a doubt, Linkin Park. However, currently, I really enjoy listening to Videoclub and Flora Cash.

MOVIES: I love all types of movies, but even better than that are series, for example, Dr. House, Mr. Robot, AHS... or cartoons, like Lilo and Stitch, Moana, Frozen... :D

BOOKS: I ABSOLUTELY ADORE BOOKS! There is just something really comforting in reading a book on a cold rainy day while drinking a delicious cup of tea. I have a lot of interest in science, medicine, sociology, history, and politics and can spend hours reading about it. I have no commitment to any political party though.
Some of my favorites are Kafka's Metamorphosis, Blitzed, Utopia, Aleksandrinke (the Alexandrian women), The Alchemist, The Little Prince...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, the most amazing experiences I have had came out of traveling to new countries alone and immersing myself in foreign cultures, and having fun with people from all different walks of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested in learning new things! :D
And I'm always excited to share my passion for cooking, handball, gymnastics, chemistry and other things. I can also help with math homework haha
My husband used to own an acting school in L.A. so he'd be more than happy to give acting and filmmaking lessons.
