About Me

I am a third year Time Based Design student from Lithuania, currently studying in the Netherlands. I've been travelling since I was a kid: with my parents, with friends or alone. I'm friendly, social and curious explorer. I love to wonder on my own and observe my surroundings as well as travel with someone. I can cook really well, can tell interesting stories, share insights about life and spirituality and talk about art and music forever.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Main reason why I like Couchsurfing is that it gives the opportunity to travel in a different, non - touristic way. Hosts can provide you with good local advice about places to visit, restaurants to eat and things to see. Since not every amazing place is marked on the internet and accessible on your own, sometimes its nice if someone can show you where you can find the hidden beauty,

Interests

Art and music plays an important role in my life. As an artist I work with different media such as light, visual, sound, performance and interaction. I usually make installations while combining these medias or work with film. As a musician I enjoy underground electronic music (techno, drum n bass, noise) and I love producing tracks of this kind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was about 15 - 16 years old I was lucky enough to find out that somebody got rid of a tiny puppy by throwing him into my backyard. He was a size of my palm and so young that his eyes weren't even open yet. Since I couldn't leave him there, I decided to pick him up and together with my mom bring to the animal shelter (we couldn't afford dog at that time and we were about to go to holiday in few weeks). In the shelter we were told , that its very dangerous for him to stay in, as there are diseases and parasites from other animals and his immunity is not strong enough to withstand. They said that If I'm okay, I could take care of him at least until his eyes will open. I couldn't say no, so I talked to my mom and we took baby home.
That was a hard experience. I had to be like a real mom, get up at night for 4 or even more times, warm up the milk, feed him or hold him in hands until he gets calm. Despite sleepless nights and the struggle while trying to take care of such a small creature, it was a pleasure to help someone who needs it most.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share my experiences and adventures that I went through while travelling different countries. I could also tell interesting facts about Netherlands, or Lithuania and teach how to say cool things in Lithuanian language.

Culture (art and music mainly), lifestyle and food are my favorite topics. I'm also a good cook so I can make something traditional or just a nice meal.
