Overview
About Me
My name is Eoin. I'm a 22 year old university student from Dublin, Ireland. I live with my parents, Mary & Niall, my sister, Ciara, my brother, Colm, and our dog, Cara.
I have a real thirst for travel, and for meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. I am of the opinion that every human has something to offer to each other. In my view, each interaction should be treasured . I am a chatty sociable person, happy to have the opportunity to engage in conversation with anyone.
I consider myself to be an outdoors person. I have nothing but love for the natural world, and all that grows. I especially enjoy walking, hiking, camping, skateboarding, surfing, climbing, etc.. I also enjoy playing and writing music, as well as creative writing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people who can, not only provide me with a place to rest my head, but maybe show me some things in their city. I am aware that other couchsurfers, and hosts, will have my one true passion in common with me; traveling. The most beautiful, liberating, and character building endeavor a person can undertake. I love meeting people from around the world, and sharing our collective experiences and traveling stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a good bit of rock music. I enjoy anything that I can rock out to, go a bit nuts to, or cruise to. Like, Black Keys, White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Oasis, Libertines, The Cure. I also love acoustic guitar, or chilled music. Artists like Ben Howard, Angus & Julia Stone, James Vincent McMorrow, The xx, Iron & Wine. Haha, I just love good music, really.
Trainspotting is my favourite film. I'm also a sucker for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and every traveler's favorite; Into the Wild.
1984 is one of the best books I've read, in my opinion. Currently making my way through A Brave New World. Lord of the Rings & The Chronicles of Narnia were my favourite books growing up.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ok, right......
While I was in Vancouver I went on a trip to Tofino on Vancouver Island with 2 of my friends. We didn't have a car, so we split up and hitch hiked the 3 hour journey to Tofino, on the other side of the island. I could mention the eclectic, and hectic experience hitch hiking over there, but it was the journey back that is the real saga.
I left Tofino, alone, at 9pm on Sunday night. My 2 friends had the following day off. but I was in work, and so had to travel back by myself. I got picked up and dropped off 2 hours later, at 11pm, 2/3s of the way back. I spent the next 2 hours trying to get a lift at the entrance to the highway, but nobody was willing to pick anyone up at 11pm. I then decided to start walking the highway, in the pitch black. At this point my phone had died, and I had lost contact with my 2 friends. I walked alone through the night, the path ahead being illuminated alone by the odd 18 wheeler blasting by. I finally got picked up at 7am, and dropped back to the ferry. I got home, completely exhausted, slept for an hour........
Then went and did an 8 hour shift.
