Overview
About Me
My name is Luna, I'm both from Germany and France currently staying in the Southern African region.
I'm trying to establish myself as an independent photojournalist and documentary-filmmaker and am working on a big project in Namibia.
I'm a person that rarely shuts up about politics and loves deep talks. Smalltalk makes me cringe, can't really help it. I'm pretty much an open book as I communicate my feelings or thoughts. I don't run away from conflict when it appears but try to solve it immediately and with mutual respect.
People are my passion and I love listening to their stories and try to see the world from their eyes. I guess it makes sense that I became a journalist. I believe in the power of unity and cross-cultural, -racial, -continental work and dialogue, which is why I'm here in Namibia. As Germans we have ignored the voices coming from Namibia demanding justice and repairs for 120 years. Our shared history was erased from our books and education. Uncomfortable and untold truths are something that always captures my attention. I'd like to learn this history by standing on its grounds, breathing its air, and hearing its voices, to eventually share it with the world.
Besides my job which is the love of my life (really), I also love to cook, write, play music, listen to music, go on adventures and long walks in nature or in a city, party or stay home watching documentaries... As long there is variety I rarely get bored.
I'm pretty independent but I also love to get to know the lives of my hosts. Meaning that I'm perfectly fine if you're busy, but also very happy when we hang out. I'm either very social or in my own world.
Hope to meet you soon :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music : I actually listen to any kind of music unless it's well done. On the one hand there is this ridiculously huge obsession for drum and bass and trance, also I can listen to downtempo sets for a whole week and won't get bored. Then I'm a lot into Northern African music and music from the Sahel region, or Middle Eastern music. I dig hip hop as well as Jazz as well as Indie Soul, so it's all mixed up in 45 Spotify playlists (yup I know it's bad)
Filmdirectors : Gaspard Noé, Xavier Dolan, Samuel Theis (Petite nature), Mounia Meddour (Papicha), Waad al-Kateab (For Sama), Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), Sembène Ousmane...
Books : Steppenwolf (Hermann Hesse), The Greater Miracle (Thomas Glavinic), Lot (Brian Washington), A Lover's Discourse (Roland Barthes), Frantz Fanon (peaux noires masque blanc), Rester barbare (Louisa Yousfi)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a huge history and politics nerd but you can tell me to shut up when it gets to much and I really won't take it personal, I know it can be intense haha
