About Me

Donielle is an avid-adventurer and a passionate learner. She collects hobbies like some people collect rocks; woodworking, painting, screenprinting, interior design, furniture-repurposing, watercolors, writing, blogging, ukulele, topography and calligraphy, anything and everything. She majored with a degree in Philosophy and loves deep conversations about culture, art, politics, ethics, human nature, and outer space. She lives off tempeh tacos, almond milk chai, and anything fresh from a garden.

Aaron is an outdoor enthusiast and science-minded educator. He loves mountain biking, backpacking, hiking, and backcountry snowboarding, and guitar playing. He's a photographer and writer, and especially loves taking lightning and starry sky photos and writing about nature and the Sierras. He makes his own gin and infused vodka, makes his own chapstick and deodorant using natural ingredients. He lives off granola, whiskey gingers, and strong black coffee.

Why We're Traveling Together:

We are on the road for the next year traveling the country (Mostly West Central US/Rocky Mountain States) for a new job. We travel and teach people how to adventure outside responsibly and leave our outdoor spaces better than we found them. We use solar power as much as we can (85% of our current energy use is solar), love off-the-beaten-path places, we're vegetarian, animal-lovers, pun enthusiasts, and enjoy beer and music. We live intentionally and love meeting others who do too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are on Couchsurfing to meet new people while we travel around the country, gain local perspective, and get some good recommendations for creating magical memories. We camp about 250 nights of the year so a mattress or a floor space is a luxury for us!
