I returned to CS after a long absence. My house filled up with children, but they are growing and going; and we moved, as well. Our new location doesn't have the same cachet, but it's near Boise, Idaho.

We're a shrinking family in a small town, with chickens in the backyard and dishes in the sink. There's a dog and a gecko.. We have twin boys who are bikes-over-babes years old, but not for too much longer. The other four kids have gone on to seek their fortunes in hospitality and headhunting (eldest son), college and fisheries (third son), the Marines (that'd be the girl), and something I still don't understand but it has to do with support services for dentists (second son). In their wake, they've left me space for a sewing and craft room and three empty bedrooms.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea, and while Brett (the Dad) is a little more reserved about people than I am, our actual hosting experiences have gone well. The "maybe" with regard to accepting guests means we are willing to consider requests but may need to space out our actual acceptances a bit, in consideration of the less adventurous among us.

We are particularly happy to host women traveling alone or with kids, who might find us a reassuring choice.
