Overview
About Me
I'm Jil from Hamburg in Germany. I just quit my job and started traveling through Spain in January. I’d like to explore the country, meet interesting people and make new unforgettable memories.
I did Couchsurfing a long time ago when I was on my first solo trip in Dublin and really liked to connect with the Host but also other Couchsurfers. Now that I’m on my second (much longer) solo trip I’m looking forward to couchsurf again 😊
Traveling for me is connecting with the country, culture and people - and I think couchsurfing is the best way to travel in an authentic way (if you know what I mean ), to really get in touch with locals, do a lot of fun things together and make new friends 😊
If you’d like to find out more about me, have a look at my travel account @finding.jil 📸
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got my bachelors degree in International Tourism Management in 2020 and started working right after. Now that traveling is possible again, I quit my job and am more than ready to be on the road again. I’m on Couchsurfing because I enjoy meeting new people and get to know their culture or their way of living. For me couchsurfing is just the most fun way to travel, discover new places and meet wonderful people!
Interests
My main interests are travelling (well obviously that's why signed up here), doing fun activities with friends, discovering new bars/restaurants/cafés,handcrafting, petting dogs, thrift shopping, skiing, hiking and I lately started doing windsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like Indie and Alternative music, but basically listen to every kind of music (it always depends on my mood). Lately I’m listening to a lot female artists, because there are too many good ones that haven’t been discovered!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I really tried to type one down, couldn’t decide (I’m so bad with decisions…), BUT I’d be very happy to share some with you
Teach, Learn, Share
I love handcrafting and could teach you / help you with all kind of crafty things. I would also really like to do a language exchange as I’m practicing Spanish at the moment (or let’s say I’m trying). Besides that I love sharing interesting stories, talking about all kinds of different topics and learning new things (because learning is a lifelong process - you know 👀)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d be more than happy to share my travel stories, some fun facts about German culture (socks and sandals etc.), plant based cooking/baking recipes and Spotify playlists (!!)
