I'm a positive, creative and thoughtful individual who loves to learn and go on adventures with my son who is 15 years old. I've spent most of my life living in northern Ontario and the small city of North Bay - an area of Canada that has lots of lakes and wilderness in very close proximity.

Aside from being self employed as a photographer, I put a lot of time and energy into raising my awesome son, building community, local environmental causes and teaching art - specifically right now with hospital patients who are recovering from injuries - who are hospital bound.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting people! When travelling I especially love meeting folks who are part of their community. I feel one gets a much better connection to a place if you meet the local residents.

I have lived with host families as an au pair in a small town in Switzerland when I was 18&19 and also with a family in Borneo Indonesia with the program Canada World Youth. These experiences have made me appreciate how important and enriching it is to meet and spend time with people who are truly part of a place. Also, but not the main reason, I'm also on couch surfing because I travel on a small, limited budget. :)
