Why I’m on Couchsurfing
La movilidad de las personas por el mundo permite el intercambio cultural, lingüístico, y este intercambio permite a las personas ser más conscientes de su subjetividad como de la existencia del otro. In light of this statement, the reason why I joined Couchsurfing is that it is a social network which not only makes easier traveling for everyone but also allows a different kinds of exchanges between people from different backgrounds, leading to a better understanding of human diversity.

Music, Movies, and Books
I define myself as a jukebox, so with me you will listen from Wagner, Brahms, Liszt or Tchaikovsky to Jorge Velosa, Los Corraleros de Majagual or Marbelle. My taste goes from Guasca to Balkan Folk; from cheesy pop lyrics to political statements in música protesta or la chanson engagée; from Western Africa to Brazilian coasts; from Kaftwerk to El Cholo Valderrama.
In terms of movies the range is wide. I easily go from documentary films to sci-fi; from cheap comedy to gallow humor; from Hollywood Superheroes to Yugoslavian partisans; from "Love Actually" to "Parasite".
I am a sort of bookworm, but my wishlist is still larger than the actual books I have read. Among my favorite authors you can find: Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote, Wendy Guerra, Ángeles Mastretta, Miguel Torres, Marvel Moreno, Alfredo Molano, Roberto Burgos Cantor, Horacio Quiroga, Juan Carlos Onetti, Julio Cortázar, Antonio Skármeta, Jorge Amado, Clarice Lispector, José Saramago, Rosa Montero, Virginia Woolf, Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Herman Hesse, Michael Ende, Milan Kundera and Yukio Mishima.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Made a "friendship pact" on top of the Pyramid of the Sun (Mexico).
- Walked to the middle of the Laguna Colorada. (Bolivia).
- Danced Peruvian Cumbia at Vale Todo in Lima (Perú).
- Helped to clean the shores of Palomino (Colombia).
- Paraglided over the Chicamocha Canyon (Colombia).
- Traveled from Bogotá to Buenos Aires for 3 days to meet a lover (Argentina).
- Sang (drunk) Alanis Morissette's "You oughta know" in a bar in München (Germany).
