About Me

I am an adventurous person ( at least I would love to think that I am). I've been keeping myself in a comfortable bubble of mine and I have experienced a paradigm (or is it momentous, seismic or cosmic you may call) shift that I need to step out, meet people, see the world from different perspectives and appreciate life. Existentialist? Perhaps.

I am a friendly, funny person. Some labelled me as sassy and witty (let me take that as a compliment). I love helping people and doing greater goods. I wish I could contribute (teach/volunteer) in every country that I visit. I practise no discrimination despite our differences in language, skin colour, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender or age. June 2016 marks my first solo backpack trip! 16 days in 3 countries yaw!

I am working for a Television Network at my home country as a content creator. I craft ideas, design storyboards and utilise my story-telling credibility through commercials, capsules or contents. I went for casting to host a travelling adventure for 4 times now, unfortunately the competition was steep, but it was all fun!

They say that if you smoke, consume alcohol, play football; you could easily make friends with others. However, I do believe that a common ground is always there, we just need to find one and talk about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that it is one of the most authentic approaches to dive into the local experience by being with the local themselves. To the travelling/backpacking community, it's a form of extended helping hands by giving an opportunity to traveller to minimise their expanses & maximise their social interaction. Hosting someone is indeed a genuine effort in giving back to those in need.

To learn from one another,
To widen the social capacity,
To excavate for insightful input,
To appreciate & embrace differences,
To build trust & mould trustworthiness.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all sorts of music that are good to ears, movies that shower me with values & lessons, and books that never allowed me to stop reading.

Series! I do watch series on Netflix too (sometimes, depends).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did not pursue my career in Engineering, instead I decided to teach at a under-performing school in a rural area for two years and discovered an experience that humbled me. That experience triggered me to see things from a bigger perspective and empathise.

I have travelled to 3 countries with $400 for 16 days. There were times that I slept by the roadside, missed the bus, shared a transportation with loud inconsiderate travellers, got lost in between cities and of course meeting beautiful souls too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I was a teacher. I taught History, coding and programming in my home country. I'd love to learn new languages other than Malay and English (I can speak a basic Arabic). Also how to cook special delicacies of a country that I visit cause I love food more than I love people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Thoughts, stories, motivation, and a cup of coffee!
