About Me

Hi!
I'm a 24 year old student of Linguistics and I currently live in Belgrade. If you have any questions about the city or want recommendations, I'd be glad to help!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to really get to know a place I travel to, feel its atmosphere and understand what it's like to live there and be a part of that culture. The best way to achieve that is through meeting and, if possible, spending more time with the locals. And the best way to do that - Couchsurfing (so I've been told) :D

Interests

As a student of linguistics, language as a phenomenon is what interests me most, particularly the process of language acquisition, comprehension and production.
I'm an enthusiastic nature lover, I relish the peace and quiet one is surrounded by when spending time in the mountains, and not to mention the breathtaking landscapes.. bliss :) That's the main reason why hiking is one of my favorite activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Tony Allen, Steely Dan, Morphine, Misty in Roots, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Junior Wells, J.J. Cale, The Rolling Stones, Billy Cobham, Brenda Boykin, Etta James, Sigur Ros, Talking Heads, Portishead, Ibibio Sound Machine...

Movies: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Rear Window, Dead Poets Society, Carnage, The Man from Earth, and pretty much every Wes Anderson's movie :)

Books: I'm a huge fan of Hesse's work; I don't read that much any more (apart from books and papers on linguistics). Back in high school, I generally enjoyed reading "the classics", like Don Quixote, Waiting for Godot, Eugene Onegin, 1984...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess we all have a different understanding of what "amazing" is.. For me, the first thing that comes to mind is having experienced hiking by night. The tranquility of the night, dark contours of nearby mountains in the distance, a million stars above and then gazing at the sunrise on the mountain top.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have decent culinary skills and I'm keen on improving them :)
