Hi you! We are Elina Virtanen & Ida Alanen, two friends in our twenties from Helsinki, Finland who laugh a lot. We both study music full time in Helsinki (Ida is pianist and Elina is vocalist) and together we have a jazz duo called "Tea For Two" . We are passionate about music, theatre, jazz, art, architecture, food, movies, travelling, nice conversations, different cultures and friendly people.

We participated to an Interrail-contest organised by Finlands Railways and we are now waiting for results if we're about to win Interrail-tickets for a month. With this youtube video we participated for the contest

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking for places to stay and people to meet during our Interrail-trip 12.7.-15.8.2016 We're travelling on low-budget and we would prefer to see and explore the cities with someone who's local rather than being just an other tourist.

We both are allready very excited about our trip and we're sure that the people who we are going to meet thru CS are going to make our journey even more interesting, beacuse they have a different (insiders) perspective to their cities.
That's why Couchsurfing would be the perfect way to travel for us!

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz jazz jazz.... that's the way we like it! We can talk much more about these subjects and share our views when we meet.
But briefly, Idas favorite album is Oscar Peterson Trio's "Night Train" , movies are Almodovar's movies and book is Lionel Shriver's "We need to talk about Kevin".
Elinas favorite album is "Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley" and all Ella Fitzgeralds records, movies are Jacques Tati's movies! and comedies like "Some Like It Hot" and books at the moment are Stephen Frys biographies, Paul Austers books and Edgar Lee Masters book "Spoon River Anthology"
