About Me

I'm currently working in a Luxury Hotel in the northernmost alpine province of Italy, South Tyrol. I'd be honored to host you for one night which I have partly described in the "my home" section. If you come across my profile and are interested in joining me on some activities or simply want to meet up or have questions about the region's best spots for wild camping, anything around cycling etc. - please, don't hesitate to text!

Your religion, gender, sexual orientation, culture, political point of view or the food you (do not) eat don't matter to me as long as you're kind to all beings. I myself am into girls and love to eat and try everything. I’ll respect your opinion, even if you’re not able to respect mine: I foster a strange liking for the contrary.

A small note on how I handled Covid in the past, since it's been and unfortunately still seems to be a dealbreaker for some: I absolutely don't care about your medical status. I am neither a fan nor an absolute critic of modern, industrial medicine. I just personally try to go without drugs, medication and the vaccine. Positive thoughts, good food and a body in motion are better keys to what I seek in life. Please send your request even if you got tested positively but feel well/ are simply healthy enough to travel, even if you decide to do all that during a lockdown.

I’m an uncomplicated and clean guy. You don’t need to babysit me and I would prefer to not having to do it either. I can cook pretty well (mostly German cuisine which often involves meat and/or animal fats) and like every kind of freshly prepared food. Canned food arouses my interest as well though. Not much of a musician myself, yet open to listen to every piece of your work! Streetart and well-conceived graffiti is a passion of mine.

I love walking, 20 km and more a day isn’t unusual when visiting a new place. It’s the only way to really get a feel for a new place in my opinion. Admittedly, biking is just as intoxicatingly intense and I love week- or month-long trips. When truly travelling, time should no longer equal money- a feeling everybody should experience at least once in life. It‘s one of the mayor reasons why I love Couchsurfing so much. Many people manage to spend a week‘s savings on one night in a hotel and won‘t even leave it to explore the surroundings for exactly that reason. Couchsurfing is almost free and should therefore always be more challenging and intense than paid accomodation. I, however, don‘t expect any guest to spend time with me as if it was the payment for my hospitality. It either klicks or doesn‘t!

I try to have unfiltered and honest conversations and am not afraid of talking about uncomforting opinions and ideas. I do think that prejudices are something very human and essentially statistical and useful to those who are interested in how we function and live. I'd be glad to stay with or host you and hope to exchange a little more than just a couch!

Other languages and countries I‘d really like to get to know better: Currently improving my Italian. Apart from that it would be Russian/ Russia, Mongolia, everything around the Caspian Sea (oh I'm really looking for a Tandem-Partner who would like to teach me Farsi!) and Pakistan. And I’m wondering what it’d be like to live in a tiny country like San Marino, Andorra or Singapore.

I love a good duck noodle soup, German wheat beer with banana juice, creating new recipes, plants (ask me about your Celtic zodiac tree!) and their spiritual and practical usage, writing long and accurate reviews on Google Maps, calligraphy, perfumes, photography, table tennis, doing pull-ups anywhere, sunlight and hanging out by the beach, the synergy of mountains and the ocean, serving guests, working odd jobs, learning about irrelevant figures and statistics, reading random wikipedia entries, meeting authentic people, memorizing meaningful quotes and poems, talking about the stock market and money, languages, new mobility concepts and many more small things...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because my mom keeps telling me it's dangerous and scary to just invite strangers into your apartment. It's supposed to be terribly stressfull, too. Sorry Mama, we gotta break a lifestyle that originated in uncertainty and fear.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly read about things which I find interesting and helpful (good for my soul) at that moment. Non-fiction, fiction and comics alike, mood-dependent. Please talk to me about classics if you enjoy them, we'll have good times!

Movies or series I could watch (and I do) over and over again: The Lord of the Rings (my whole life kinda revolved around this story and I live after many of the sagas' principles, I am scared of the Amazon Series though), Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Patriot, Braveheart, Apocalypto, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Revenant, many movies by Quentin Tarantino, The Grand Budapest Hotel, 12 Years a Slave (read the book, it’s even better!), Love Actually, Before Sunrise, The Blind Side, Catch me if you can and many more.

I do really like German movies when it comes to comedy and would love to show you one if you're down for that. French arthouse cinema or anything which evokes sad or happy thoughts I appreciate just as much.

I‘m also into well-produced anime movies and epic series. When bored I still find myself watching One Piece or the original 'Avatar-The last air bender' from time to time. I do also love the ‘Asterix and Obelix’ movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a Barman at the Green Dragon Inn, in Hobbiton. Oh, how I miss the job.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd consider myself a good teacher of life. I like to learn from people who work hard (it doesn't have anything to do with an 8h day), think and act independently and do it with wits in order to make positive changes in this world. If you are yet completely clueless in life: you certainly have a great potential which I'm willing to uncover with you if I sense the openness. Generally, spending time with strangers can only be beneficial.

I will give you a professional haircut if I've got my equipment on me + infos on the profession and recommendations on how to take care of your hair.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good time, enriching conversation, some food, a haircut (I'm learned) and all I can do to make your life a little easier during your/my stay. I will usually ask whether there is something I can help with. If I don’t, feel free to tell me straight away!
