About Me

I am an IT student who enjoys programming, but I definitely don't want to spend my whole life in front of a screen. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. Event though I like to study hard (not just my university studies, basically anything I find relevant), I try to travel abroad every year to widen my horizons. I like to do crazy things from time to time. I try to push myself out of my comfort zone, but not as often as I would like to. I work on improving it right now. I currently live in Heraklion in Crete as an Erasmus student.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and meeting new people and I believe that Couchsurfing can help me do both. I prefer low cost traveling, hitchhiking and sleeping in tents to staying in expensive hotels and I'd like to meet more people with similar interests. To my mind the idea behind Couchsurfing is really amazing and I want to be part of it.

Interests

I am passionate about many things. I really enjoy studying IT, but apart from that I devote my time to reading, self-development and traveling. I am a hopeless optimist and dreamer.

One of my biggest dreams is not to stay in one country my whole life but rather to travel from one to another every one or two years. I'd love to live in Vietnam, Japan as well as Australia and New Zealand and Canada.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading self-development books or reading in general. When I was younger, I fell in love with fantasy literature and sometimes I still catch myself "living in a fantasy land" in my own head. My favorite fantasy books are Eragon, The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire and like almost everyone from my generation, Harry Potter. I was influenced by other books as well. The Little Prince and The Alchemist changed my attitude towards life and 1984 massively changed that way I look at our society.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is hard to tell, but to my mind it happened a couple years ago when me and two of my good friends went to Bournemouth in the UK. It was the summer after we passed our final exams. After a week of unsuccessful search for job my friends wanted to go back to the Czech Republic. After a long walk I decided to stay there on my own and it turned into a wonderful summer I am really thankful for.
