Hello~ My name is Lee Jae Yong.
I live in Gyungsan, small town near Daegu, Korea. ( of course SOUTH)
Also, I'm in Gyungpook National Univ. and my major is Public Administration.
I love to take a photo so I'm engaging in photo club in my school and I participated co-exhibition three times. Also, I love backpacking whether with plan or without. Backpacking makes me many friends to share each others experience and gives me full of energy. Food is also the reason of my life. I love to cook and love to eat all world's food. Of course, I like to challenge the other country's cooking.
Just four month ago, I finished my duty of the military service. (In Korea, We must do our duty for military for 2 years.) It was very meaningful time for me and made me grow up.
Now, I started my HALF- round world trip to Asia, Europe, Africa for about 6 month. I will go Japan, Thailand, Turkey and round Europe, then move to Africa ( from Kenya to Egypt). Also, visit Middle-east Asia and India. This is simple version of my trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on the half-round backpacking now.
I want to share experience with all my frined on trip and taste the REAL life of native. Of course, Meeting the friends in each country make me enthusiastic.
And I can also introduce some korean cuisines. (We can make some exchange of each other's culture)

Interests

I love to take a photo, especially the people. I like landscape but I think taking a picture of people is more motivated to me. Also, My camara is 'FM2'. It's a old camara loaded 35mm film. It makes subject more beatuful and makes me energetic while taking photo.
In Korea, I usually enjoy to cook some dishes. Of course, sometimes I post it on my facebook or instagram. I love to cook and I love to try some new recipe. But I think I'm not that good cooker. I want to cook well like some famous youtubers, but it's not easy I think... I will keep do my best for my cooking and someday I will study or learn some cooking skills.
When I go some hiking or backpaking, It makes me refresh and inspired. It's always challenge and hard work. But from that, I learn so much and give me some time for thinking, see the world more wide.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to enjoy korean indie music these days.
When I was in highschool, I was mad in British rock music. Like Muse, Eric Clapton, Oasis, Queen etc. That day, I was fall in love with them.

I like the novel and travelogue. Usually these books make me to be there in real or live another life. And sometimes make me touch in some subjects.

When I was highschool second grade, I was fascianated by filming. I spend whole year to make movie as staff. I participated 8 short film and directed my own movie once. I like the 'Godfather', 'Inside Out' and 'Beauty Inside'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed along the ridges of Baek Du Dae Gan, we usually call it 'Spine of Korea' in Korea. It's about 1,400km from south to north. But my country is divided, So I hiked about 700km on my feet. I'm sooooo proud of myself. And In Korea, when I tell this experience to people, They are so surprised about that and jealous of my hiking because it is hard to achieve.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some basic Korean sentences. I completed 'Korean Language Teaching' course 3years ago. Of course, I can't teach you professionally. But if you want, I can teach you some essential Korean.

I want to learn your native culture. Just...what you eat, what you usually do during holidays etc. I want to feel and experience the people living in the country where I visit. That will be totally enough for me.

I think we can share some storys about us and information about each others country. Also, we can talk about the place we have visited. You can ask me whatever you want to know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Simply, I can talk about my country, South Korea, and my experiences. I'm not sure it can make you interested but I will tell you what you're curious. Also, I can cook some Korean foods for you. It can't be perfectly same as foods in Koea. But I will do my best if you want.
