About Me

It's always interesting when the sun sets on the horizon, when that majestic A380 lifts off into the sky and when that first drops of rain fall onto a green leaves, they look like pearls gifted by the heavens. Did you know that one of the most relaxing scenarios you can find yourself is on top of a climb staring down at a lake thats placed like an oasis amongst an army of mountains surrounding their queen. And as you stare into the lake that vibrantly bursts out a lighter spectrum of cyan, you ask yourself "How is Nature so chaotically beautiful?"

My hobbies include travelling and exploring and discovering new experiences. When I'm travelling, you'll always find a Fuji XT-2 wrapped around my neck snapping away at anything that wants to be snapped a 1L bottle of water in my "Grey Henry Backpack" and about 3 restaurants marked as " HAVE-TO-VISIT" on Google Maps in whichever the destination.

I am an Indian with a Brazilian surname, have lived my whole life in Abu Dhabi and have passions that are an essential blend of the amazing creative arts of cooking, music and photography. To show off a bit, I'm trying to graduate in Computational Simulation - (of course I know how to "compute" - sense the sarcasm!). I've travelled to Europe 5 times over the past 3 years and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to live here! And the next year, I moved here and do not regret it at all!

If you can stir up a Carbonara and can jive to Rock'n'Roll music, you've found a food-aficionado-dancing-partner for yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

50% of the reason is to meet new people, find those crazy stories experienced by anyone who shares the love for travelling.

The remaining 50% of the reason is to learn something new. It could be anything! From learning how to make a new dish from a country, learn how to sing (and play) a famous song in the local language or even learn how to say Hi or Bye!

Interests

My interests lie in a concoction of the amazing creative arts of music, food & photography. As a kid, I've always considered the kitchen as the best room of a house, learnt to first play "Hotel California" on the guitar, and had a picture of mine framed from a photography competition in UAE.

Music, Movies, and Books

A definite anthem would be Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (and Hotel California by the Eagles. But then again, favourite artists go anywhere from the Beatles, the Doors, Eric Clapton, Prince, Hall 'n Oates and obviously Queen. Norah Jones, Nelly Furtado, John Mayer, James Blunt and Bruno Mars too! (But this list is not at all exhaustive - I can list a million more). In a nutshell, everything from the classic 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's to the really catchy tunes of 2000's. I've recently given a year to Japanese Pop - and its bloody amazing!

I still fell Titanic would be the most beautiful movie ever made, but then "Inception" just takes you places. Obviously hooked on to the running GoT season - it would seriously be awesome if I was couch-surfing and I get to watch an episode with the host!!! :D

This would have to be Dan Brown's Angels n Demons - so much that I went to Rome in February. Fell in love with the churches, the pasta and the gelato!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am proud to have nailed the strawpedo in a ruin pub in Budapest in under 5 seconds!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Having worked in a Kitchen, I can teach you ANYTHING about food!. In fact, if we ever sat down for breakfast together, I will cook (and teach) you how to make my luscious delicious scrambled eggs, and how to extract beautiful coffee from a French press. I can also teach you how to play the guitar and keyboard (probably to an intermediate level) and I can share any information you want about India or UAE (if these places are in your next travel plan).

I'd love to learn about the local food, some communicable language (I could use during my travel), or even how to sing your favourite song!

I'd also love to your to know about your favourite destination and would want to hear your story about it so I can add it to my travel list!
