About Me

I always admired the big map of the world in our kitchen when I was growing up. Now I don't admire the little colored pieces on the map any more but explore them in person - and hopefully meet great new people while doing so :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to meet new people and see the world (like everyone here) When traveling I usually don't want to simply cross off a destination on a list but rather explore with a bit of "insider knowledge" in the back of my mind. So far this community has been the right thing for that

Interests

I'm interested in a lot of different things - mainly because I'm often really enthusiastic about a topic/ thing for a while and then lose that interest.
With that being said, I never lost that enthusiastic interest for traveling, reading, languages or meeting/ making friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - if start listing every band I love this would probably be boring to read, so I don't. Let's just say that I listen to all types of music when I enjoy it, but mostly you can find rock/alternative in my music library
Books- I absolutely love to read! I usually take my everywhere, you never know when you'll have to wait in line for a long time so why not? I enjoy all kinds of books as long as they grab my attention. Then I'm usually not able to put them down — but hey, you win some, you lose some.
Movies- I don't watch that many movies but when I do (with friends for example) I enjoy pretty much everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking in Iran in the most beautiful scenery you could imagine. It was probably also the most dangerous trip because our guide just literally walked uphill and to the top of the mountains in the Alamut Valley even though there were no paths. But even though I thought I'd slip and fall throughout the 13 hours almost always uphill, I'd do it again (maybe this time without sending photos of the way to my family since I later found out they - too - worried about me slipping and falling the couple hundred meters from the rocks).
It was simply breathtaking and an amazing experience.
