Overview
About Me
I am a 23 years old wanderer from Romania. In theory I finished university with a BA in Security Studies, Political Science Domain but I have yet to write my thesis so I can get my diploma. Although it was interesting I realised that the academic world it's not really my thing so I decided not to try further to a master's degree.
After that, last year I went for 5 months working as a bar staff in Scotland and now I am staying for half a year in Lviv, Ukraine as a volunteer in the European Voluntary Service program. I choose to do this EVS program because I want to start social and community projects in my hometown but I didn't know exactly how so I considered that learning here first will make for a good beginning.
Because of this I view every place I go to as a something I can learn from as I think it will help a lot later in building this type of projects of my own when I will go back to my hometown. Sounds pretty ambitious I know, but I will do it somehow :)
I am too honest sometimes
not a big fan of cats honestly but usually the feeling is mutual so we just ignore each other
insects are interesting to observe, at a certain distance:)
I like dogs and horses (I've never been horse riding but i really want to try it)
I don't do sports right now(a mistake that I want to correct) but when I was a kid I did : volleyball, basketball(in high school) tennis(like in 4th grade).
nowadays I'm interested in trying something that involves more adrenaline like parachuting
In love with food, but not that great with cooking which is a bit ironic
I like walking around, wandering with no destination just admiring the surroundings......it's more exiting when you don't know where you are going to end up
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am in Ukraine and on couchsurfing to meet new people and discover different insights on the world and humanity, expand my understanding of people.
Volunteering is my main occupation and traveling is on the side type of activity which I hope I'll get to do it more often. Although 6 months sounds like plenty of time I feel like time is already passing by too fast and I fear it won't be enough to get to know enough about Ukraine the way I want to.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly like to watch historical drama or real life based movies especially the ones related to morality.......movies with unexpected endings (mindfuck). As long as it makes me wonder what is going on or just makes me think in general then I might like it :D Here is list of movies that I like in no particular order, if you also like some of them and you'd like to suggest new ones for me please feel free to do so

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been to China, although only for 2 weeks. Would totally do it again but I would like to have a longer stay
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach, what could I teach someone? a couple of words in mandarin maybe as I took a chinese course a couple of years ago but my memory is not one of the best so i don't guarantee anything
I also took one year university course learning portuguese, I can understand some of it if people speak it slowly
What i want to learn? local traditions and habits, history of building be it old historical ones, factories or buildings from neighbourhoods......i like to see more than touristic places, i like to walk around and see the people living their everyday life
so you could say i like the cultural part, I'm interested how people think there, what they say and how they say it. Maybe some popular proverbs, expressions, phrases would give some insight in that
P.S : I love food(like a lot), so if i get to try the local cuisine then i actually think I don't need anything else =))
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sense of humor:D ok, i don't think I'm that funny but I can say that sarcasm is one of my strenghts(which not many people like actually). If I can find people who are ok with that
conversation partner interested in your story, view about the world, your personal ideas and aspirations alongside the culture you are from. I am just starting to become aware of my life and it's potential and although I don't see right now what exactly I could share of value, so listening is my strength.
