Overview
About Me
I'm Alina, a Romanian 22 years old girl, that chooses to do something different than society would agree with.
I started an adventure on April 1st with my Russian boyfriend, hitchhiking from Baltics to Balkans for 4 months.I am doing this because I want to grow as a person, through getting out of my comfort zone and testing my limits, and of course, learning about new cultures and meeting inspiring people.
UPDATE: I moved back to Bucharest after my travel around Europe and started my master :) so I am pretty busy during week days, I have master every evening 4-8. In weekend I am usually more free.
I’m out of Bucharest 13-28 November.
If you wanna request at least don’t send one line message :) personalized is appreciated
One thing I believe in is:
Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind, always.
I'm a psychology graduate, so I love to listen to different people's story, and learn from it as I am an empathic and intuitive person. I am passionate about working with youth and people, deliver training about topics related to psychology and European problems, as I have experience in the Erasmus+ programme and volunteering. I am also passionate about Latin dancing, as I lived for 6 months in Barcelona and I enjoy cooking Romanian traditional food, as I am proud of my roots.
I am also interested in graphic design, video-making, and photography, and I recently started vlogging about my travel adventure. I love nature and I enjoy long hikes, camping & rock climbing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Firstly, I believe that I want to discover kindness among different nationalities, in helping each other, even though at the beginning we are strangers, from different countries. Of course, my main purpose in traveling is to meet inspiring people, find about new opportunities, learn from other stories and make amazing friends around the world. Another important reason is that I want to share my experience and get different insight from others, and maybe help people find new opportunities through which they can develop :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - underground, rock, blues, Latin, jazz, and any other type depending on my mood
Movies - One of the movies that had an impact on me was Schlinder s list. In general, I am more into thrillers, historical and some autobiographical movies.
Books - I read a lot of books about personal development, psychology, and classics. Nietzsche and Yalom are my favourite
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking and couchsurfing for 3 and half months from Baltics to balkans (14 countries in total)
Volunteering - I've been volunteering for 7 years (with kids, eldery people and student organizations) and most of my beautiful memories are connected with that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What I think I can offer the most is sharing my experience in volunteering and how many great opportunities are offered by the European Union, that you can also benefit from.
I can cook some traditional Romanian food, as I have experience of working in a restaurant, I can also teach you some Romanian and Spanish, history of Romania, sign language, but most of all we can have some interesting conversations about human psychology, behavior and the importance of introspection.
