Music, Movies, and Books
Brazilian samba and Brazilian music in general.
African music in general, blues..
Comedy, drama, documentaries.., some of my favorites "Bread and Tulips", " Like water for Chocolate" "The Wings of the Dove", "The Pope's Toilet", "The black book"-
I am fan from all books of Eduardo Galeano, Pablo Neruda, Jorge Amado; also the poetess Albana Shala, Ismail Kadare.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two of the things I have been seared into my life, was working in Brazil in a cooperative education in the field and in makeshift schools. Another thing, was in Thailand in the mountains with children, they were very different from my culture and life stories. Both amazing experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a special interest in rural areas, social cooperatives work in production as cheese, oils, wines, etc .. I have worked with peasant movements and NGOs and all I can contribute to help others is my passion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
House:
I live alone in a studio with balcony in the old town of Barcelona, the Borne neighborhood.
The apartment is a typical Catalan-style loft, fully furnished, with separate kitchen and bathroom. It has a bed for one person and a double sofa bed for two people.
I try to arrange visits when I'm traveling, so I can lead you just a few days. We can talk about it, of course.
I love pets and children, but in my apartment are not allowed.
It is not allowed to smoke.
In my apartment greatly we respect the silence of the neighbors, which is not allowed parties or large events.
Guide:
I can guide you through the amazing Barcelona and surroundings, know the history of Catalonia and landmarks. Authentic local culture and history, music, and of course food and beverages (wine regions of Catalonia, cheese shops, markets).
About art I can also guide you, because it is a way to work in NGOs to learn and show certain neighborhoods for social inclusion, housing, places that tell stories.
Of course, if you have more time, I can suggest other parts of Catalonia, further away from Barcelona.
