About Me

Hi I'm Fabiola, but you can call me Fabi :).

I am currently living in Santiago (Chile) after been living in Oxford, England.

The most important thing in my life is my son Raimundo (4 years). He is my inspiration and the reason I wake up every morning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love sharing experiences and life stories. As much as I like to see the sights of each city, I also like the recommendations of local people and their points of views of the city and its surroundings. I love to listen and learn from everything they have to teach as well as learn about their culture and customs.

I also love to receive people from around the world. I hope this can be an option in March 2017 :).

My Interests

What I like most is dancing, no matter what, because for me it is a way of fundamental expression that each person should perform. Since I was a little girl I practice ballet, street dance (Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Reggaeton), modern dance and the different techniques for ballroom dancing.

I like to play the piano and to sing (but It doesn’t mean that I'm good at it lol). I also enjoy drawing and painting with different techniques and tools.

I love the outdoors and doing sports, like going to the park with my son, biking, playing squash, swimming, hiking, mountaineering, trekking, skating and obviously take dance classes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all styles of music. Not only danceable obviously, also all the influences that I received throughout my life. My brothers love Classic Rock and Death Metal, my father is a real fan of The Beatles and he likes too Elvis Presley, Harry Nilson, Bob Dylan and music of 50s, 60s and 70s in general. And my mother loves poetry and romantic Latin music as Silvio Rodriguez, Armando Manzanero, Pedro Milanes among others. Also I like classical and piano music (Beethoven (of course!!), Yann Tiersen ().

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My lovely son hahaha :D

When I was living in Oxford, I could not find a “Streetdance” class as I used to practice in Chile. So after having tried a variety of schools and classes in Oxford none of it met my expectations. It was then when I said “Well, if no one can give you what you’re looking for, is it not the best solution to do it yourself?” But I did not want to dance alone; I wanted more people to join the fun. So I started a dance class twice per week and a lot of people join me for free to enjoy this :D.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to dance whatever you want; I know the techniques of all dances, so it can be very fun to try together. I also speak Spanish very well if you want to learn a little bit in an intensive class lol.

On the other hand I like to investigate the functioning of things and if something does not work, look for a solution. I'm a good "solver" and very creative too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very good at cooking, especially when it comes to desserts, such as brownies, lemon cakes, cookies and apple crumple.

I have many stories to tell, but mostly I like to hear stories and have a nice conversation while sharing a good wine (even more so if it’s Chilean !! :D).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
