About Me

Heey! My name is Giovanni, I'm an 18-years-old guy and a law student who lives and studies in São Paulo, Brazil. Well, i really think that talking about ourselves is kinda difficult, so it's going to be a kinda big text too :)
I'm from a small Brazilian city called Varginha (it sounds weird in English, i know), where I grew up. Last year (2016), I came to São Paulo to study law at the University of São Paulo and I just fell in love for this city, the people and its life style. São Paulo is one of the biggest cities in the world and it's definitely a place where "time is money". That's interesting because I'm like it. Nope, I'm not always thinking on money, but I try to enjoy my moments as possible as I can, which means that when I'm traveling I want to go to places, meet new people, make friends, enjoy the night life and make sure the day was worth it. If I'm receiveing guests, I want to give them the opportunity to do so.
Some things about me: I'm calm (my friends say I'm too calm), I'm always smiling (Brazilians do), I feel confortable in different environments, I like to talk to people and I'm open-minded.
That's it! But if there is something you want to ask me, go ahead!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing beause of three reasons basically:
1) it's an opportunity to be immersed on a different culture. When I was young, living in another country was a dream to me. That was because I wanted to see how other people lived around the globe. Nowadays, I still do! However, I see it as a way to understand my own country and culture.

2) I meet new people. Yeah, I really like it! As Durkheim said, we are all social beings. At least to me, its true.

3) it´s also an opportunity to build connections and know people from everywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

About music, I like pop, electronic, indie, mpb, brazilian funk and brazilian country. Some singers or groups that I really love are Coldplay, OneRepublic, Of Monsters and Men and George Ezra.

About books, my favorites are "Sentimento do mundo", by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, "Vidas Secas", by Glaciliano Ramos, the trilogy "His dark materials", by Philip Pullman, and "Fall of giants", by Ken Follett.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was moving from a countryside city to a 12 million people one. And all by myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I offer? Well, some brazilian culture knowlegde, a company to talk and/or hang out, a friendship and a place (my home) to stay in São Paulo in the future.
