About Me

I work as a doctor in a hospital, I'm actually a neurology resident, and I like my job a lot. I chose to study medicine because I wanted to know how our body works, and how our brain works. Not an easy task. Let's say I'm still learning... ;-) I like to listen to people, to try to understand them and help them. I think that being a doctor satisfies many of my needs and inclinations: I get to talk to many people and to listen to their life stories, it requires me to be open minded and selfless, and it also satisfies my need to keep studying and learning. My job is an important part of my life, so I talked about it first, but it's not everything.
On weekends and on free time I like to hike in the mountains, it makes me feel free and relaxes me deeply,. I also like to go jogging in the park when I don't have enough time to go hiking. I also love to read books, and I've been doing it since I was a kid. It is a different but equally important way of travelling.
I live in Milan in my own apartment, which I'm now sharing with a flatmate. I like to take care of my home and sometimes to cook, but only if I have guests :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join couchsurfing because I both want to host and meet people from all around the world, and to be hosted or simply meet local people or other travellers during my journeys. I think this is a great way to travel, becuse you get to know the real people and the real world. It is the opposite of guided tours offered from travel agencies.
I've also realized that I need to share life experiences and this is a great way of doing so.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for books, I mostly like novels. My favourite of all times is maybe Anna Karenina from Tolstoy, but I read it at 16 and I don't know if I would be able to read it again now.
I like to watch movies, I don't know which ones are my favourite, I'll just write some titles I remember now: flight, one flew over the cockoo's nest, the danish girl, in the name of the father, blood diamonds, intouchables...
I have my own taste in music but I can't really give a definition... let's say indie rock, some italian singer-songwriter... and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've recently been on a one week hiking trip in Galicia with my boyfriend, it was absolutely amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some knowledge on italian culture, I know something about medicine, and I can talk about my journeys... but there isn't something I can really teach... well I can teach some italian if you like!
I'm willing to learn anything you can teach me, I'm very curious about many subjects.
I would love to share some experiences, like cooking together, visiting a city together, or going for a walk.
