Me llamo Maite (aunque me dicen Mai o Maitu), tengo 24 años y soy uruguaya.
En Uruguay estaba estudiando medicina (termine mi 5to año) y planeo retomar a la vuelta de este año sabático que me tome para viajar y poder conocer un poco el mundo.
Hablo inglés (avanzado) , español (nativo) y algo de portugués (básico).
Me encantan los animales, tengo 2 gatos y 2 perras, próximamente nos superan en número en mi casa!
Cuando tengo tiempo libre me gusta ir al cine o mirar alguna serie, juntarme con mis amigas a comer, tomar una cerveza o unos mates en la rambla.

My name is Maite (although my friends call me Mai or Maitu), I’m 24 years old and I’m from Uruguay.
In Uruguay I was studying medicine (I finished my 4th year) and I plan to get back to it after this sabbatical year I took to travel and to get to know the world a little bit.
I speak English (advanced), Spanish (native) and some portuguese (basic).
I love animals, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, soon they will overnumber us in my house!
When I have free time I like to go to the movies or to watch some series, get together with friends to eat, have a beer or some mates in the rambla of Montevideo.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me gustaría poder conocer la cultura de los lugares a los que quiero viajar y creo que una manera de acercarse es mediante la misma gente viviendo ahí. Poder aprender de ella y aportar mi granito de arena. Además de que es una manera de economizar en un viaje.

I would like to get to know the culture of the places I want to visit and I think that a good way of approaching is by getting to know the people that lives there. Being able to learn from them and to leave my “sand grain”.
Besides I think it a way of economize in a trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Escucho variada música, depende de mi estado de animo pero puedo escuchar desde Metallica hasta Andrea Bocelli.
Y con las películas me pasa también lo mismo, aunque me gusta mucho Tarantino. Mi película favorita es Cinema Paradiso.

I listen to a lot of music, it depends of my mood but I can listens from Metallica to Andrea Bocelli.
With the movies it’s the same, but I like a lot Tarantino.
My favorite move is cinema paradiso.
