Overview
About Me
I am a Canadian traveller from British Columbia. I speak very little Spanish & German but am practicing my German all the time and try to learn as much as I can of the local language wherever I go. I find the different ways of communicating really fascinating and beautiful. I like to think of myself as clean, respectful, friendly & social. I can be quite quiet at times especially as I am taking in new environments and sometimes I just enjoy silence but am usually ready to talk about anything, I especially seem to enjoy getting into hypothetical conversations about life, space, different philosophies. I like getting to know all kinds of people and am really interested in hearing other peoples perspectives as it helps to broaden my own.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am traveling Europe for the first time and am new to CS but I really love the idea of getting to know locals and fellow travellers in this setting and getting a glimpse of the insiders view of the places I travel to. I definitely plan to be a host when I do return home because I just think it's such a nice way to create a sense of community across the world and I really want to give back. :)
Note: If you use this as a way to pick up girls, please do not accept me as a guest. It would be very disappointing for both of us.
Interests
Music, cooking, outdoor adventure, art, surfing and meeting new people
Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
Tom Robbins is my favorite author to date because I just love the combination of humor and poetry and magical perspectives on real life. I also read a lot of taoist & buddhist texts and authors like Tich Nath Hanh because I find reading them just helps to simplify my mind, increase my ability to see the beauty all around me all the time and just to be grateful for all of it. I'm always looking for new book suggestions inside or outside of my usual scope of interest!
Movies: I tend to try to avoid too much TV or Movies as I feel like they distract from real life but sometimes it's really nice and I tend to try to watch things I can learn from or feel inspired by.
Music: I'm terrible at answering this question but it's onlyx because the world of music is so broad! Any time I think I don't like a genre or artist, I hear some side I haven't heard before and change my tune. I really enjoy music coming from the southern states, freak folk, rock & roll, regular folk, jazz, coombia, world music, I don't know I can't sum it all up. I also really love to dance, when the time & music is right.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I dropped everything, got rid of all my stuff and booked a one way ticket to europe on a whim and without a plan... so far it's been blowing my mind!
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to teach learn and share as it comes. My knowledge & interests are expanding and changing constantly and for the most part are more wide than they are deep.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am happy to help with cleaning or cooking or any household projects that I might be useful for. I also play some music and can give simple tattoos. I'm usually really happy to help whenever I can so please don't feel shy to ask. I might not always be able but If I have the time and energy I'll usually be happy to... but I think cleaning up after myself goes without saying :)
