About Me
Hi,
I'm a German girl enjoying a year off until summer 2017! I started my first backpacking trip in Morocco in 2016 and after that (as funny as it sounds it's true) moved back in with my parents for a few weeks before I started traveling to South East Asia. Iceland, Scotland, Norway, Sweden and South Africa also stand on my bucketlist but I try to plan as less as possible and just see what the next day brings since I normally am quite a planner and I want to get rid of that habit for the next months. I also want to slow my life down a bit since I moved cities quite often for the last four years and gathered a bunch of different experiences through my studies (Media Management) and internships. And even though moving and adapting to new surroundings can be exhausting I'd say that I'm pretty good at it! I can adapt quickly and are very easy going - ask my 12 roommates I've been living with for the last 4 years. They will probably tell the same.
Being a part of the Couchsurfing Community for me means to connect with new people, listen to their views and teach them things about my country, like language, culture, traditions, etc.
Some hard facts: I'm a dog lover, but I also pet cats and kids. I'm a dancer for life, I love to go for a run or do a yoga session every now and then and I just gathered my first surfing experience! In the summer I swim and in the winter I ski. I'm very passionate about culture (like opera, theatre, ballet) and media. You can drag me into every art exhibition about expressionism or photography and I'll attend every keynote speech about consumer journeys, advertising designs and creativity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
If you read until here you should've noticed by now that I'm not able to host any Couchsurfers myself for the next year. As unfortunate as that is, by staying at your home I can make sure that I experience unique things and really get to know the people and the country instead of simply following the flow of other travellers and hopping with them from sight so sight.
Also, I hosted a lot of Airbnb guests in my flatmates room in Berlin and I loved to talk to them and let them know about the neighborhood and the city they were staying in. I know the "vibes" that can be created when opening the doors to strangers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Definitely my cooking and baking skills! I love to cook and even though I have to admit that I do not usually cook a lot of German food, I'm more than willing to learn a few recipes by heart before visiting you! Otherwise I'm always up for a great kitchen party.
Some people say that I have a very cheerful manner and I believe that I'm fun to stay with not only if you want to learn more about Germans but also if you just want to get to know people from different parts of the world. But I guess you'll have to find out about that by meeting me in person!
