About Me

Hello,

My name is Kuba (it's the Polish diminutive form of my full name), I am twenty-three years old. I've finished studying Law at University of Sheffield and now I returned to suburbs of Gdańsk, in which I work for Gdańsk Roads and Greenery Authority. Overally, it's all about aestheticization of public spaces.

Well, I may say that I get pretty easily interested into new stuff, even more if someone talks to me about that in an interesting way! Myself I can talk about music for hours (primarily making fun of artists I don't like, roasting other tastes and offend anything that's Radiohead/sarcasm)

Yet I love to hear about something new, from each part of life. I was a law student, but I have a crush on science and a little bit on art so I guess I'm kinda open-minded, huh? Basically my biggest kink, urban studies, is very interdisciplinary so it merges psychology, sociology, architecture, planning, criminology even and so on.

A veggie (always eager to cook together!) and thus sorta ecoterrorist, I consider climate change issues as the most serious of all problems right now, I try to live as sustainable as possible and in the future I want to actively participate in alleviating outcomes of the antropocene era. I hope I will achieve this through sustainable urban transport planning, but we'll see how the future unfolds!

I love me some political/geopolitical chat (as for now I voted in 100% possible elections and I consider myself politically conscious, ignorance sucks in all parts of life) or anything about differences or similarities between our cultures. No offence, Brits, but I would be happy to share my roast on UK and living in UK, haha.

I am definitely a city person and a dog person. Cows are big dogs ok and I love them too. Raccoons are my spirit animals and my dream to pet one was finally realised recently! I wanted to upload the photo of this but the orientation gets messed up, so you have to believe me on this.

My sense of humour stopped at Polish memes from 2010 so you may not always get the reference I'm making but I'll try to do my best to restrain myself from that.

I love Gdańsk and I love getting to know this place better after about 17 years of living here. I'm low-key into architecture and urbanism (ok not that low-key, at the time of writing I am in the process of applying to Urban Studies MSc) so I love to uncover new spots, tell about and share them with others. Gdańsk is a city of many themes and histories so you will definitely find something for yourself there, I'm here to give you any tips or suggestions. Also, when it comes to visiting other cities, I'd rather try to catch the spirit of the lifestyle, to explore the architecture, the nature rather than tending to tick off all of the museums. But I'm always open to see some modern art :))

My weird hobby is to collect new metro systems I've ridden - currently I have 13 of them!

I used to work in a pub and I'm a beer geek so I can smoothly introduce you into craft beer scene (or circlejerk with you to the hipster brews) and cater sth for your taste if you're up to do so.
Actually the tasting of local beers is my must-have almost everytime I go somewhere new!
