About Me

I left Brazil for the first time in June 2019 to backpack Egypt for 6 weeks, but decided to stay. I'm still living in Sinai by the Red Sea in Egypt, teaching kindergarten and primary in the desert, between the mountains and the sea, 3.5 years after that.

Travelling abroad is still something very new for me, and every time I get the chance to go to a new country is a big deal.

I've been to France, Albania and Italy (Rome and Sardegna), and now I'm finally having the chance to explore again. I'm taking a vacation in February-March 23 and going to visit some friends in Spain and in the UK, and planning to stop along the way as much as possible to meet people, share stories, get lost walking in different places and hoping to see snow for the first time in my life on the way!

l'm a curious by definition, I could spend days or weeks deeply researching about some random new interest that pops in my mind, or studying a whole course about a topic (it happens often!)

I love nature, outdoor activities, walking or riding a bicycle with no destination, circus and aerial arts, to share nice food and conversations, and so on.

I believe we all deserve respect and should communicate our boundaries, so others can know your needs and limits - the world would be so much better if we could just communicate non-violently, and without expecting people to read our minds ✨

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe we already have in the world all information we need to live better - we just need to connect more and share, until we put some pieces together. I like to observe the "coincidences" when people's stories or interests connect unexpectedly.

Interests

I'm a very VERY multiple person, who has several new interests every month.
Mostly, I love to camp, road trip, backpacking.
I've been practicing aerial silks (circus!) for about 5 years.
I'm a lover of nature and what it offers to us as medicines and selfcare. I used to have a natural cosmetics brand and make products in a home-lab back in Brazil.
I'm also a food lover, who dances while tasting good food.
I teach children - arts class, upcycling, english, math, emotional intelligence. Currently I'm homeschooling two boys in a camp in the desert, between the Sinai mountains and the Red Sea.
Cultural production and filmmaking are also old passions that I had the chance to develop in Egypt.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not really good at defining favorite things, but I can try

Music: I listen to almost every music gender, but recently I've been listening a lot of new brazilian popular female songs and I have a brand new playlist with the tunes I was listening in Sinai, Egypt, where the mountains meet the red sea.

Books: currently reading 3 or 4 hahaha
But always struggling to bring them while traveling, while resisting the idea of getting a kindle. UPDATE FEB 22: GOT A KINDLE!

Movies: mostly anything good. I really appreciate watching a movie that is well constructed and with a beautiful photography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived for 2 months in an island in Bahia, Brazil, then 2 weeks in a permaculture farm, then hitchhiked my way back home.

I've worked in the juvenile in Brazil as a psychologist, assisting the teenagers there, and also having sex education and workshops with them while researching on the topic.

Hitchhike @ Dahab, Egypt
Crash a wedding party in a boat @ Cairo, Egypt
Hike Mount Sinai twice @ St Catherine, Egypt
Attended a Bedouin wedding with over 2000 bedouins from different tribes and parts of the desert @ St Catherine, Egypt
Scooter accident + court case @ Cairo, Egypt

Hiked amazing mountains in Brazil and Egypt

Jumped from a moving boat with my big backpack, in what seemed like a dangerous situation (ask me about this story if we click)

Hitchhiking Albania from south to north and back to tirana by myself

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'm learning at every single moment of my life, developing new skills and also teaching something.
Everything is an exchange of experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share basically anything I know - we just have to discover what's that 1 interest we have in common.

I also would love to share my travel experiences and tips if you plan to visit Brazil or Egypt some day.

I can teach you some Portuguese or Arabic.

I'd love to share a meal, a drink, exchange stories and good laughs.
