About Me

Hi I am Ming and Wong is my Chinese surname. Writing an introduction is not the best way to know a person so I'd rather skip. I don't use my couch surfing account much since I moved back to my home but I would love to give you tips on traveling in Hong Kong. Willing to listen to any topics and pretty sure that I can catch up with any topics (shameless). Just feel free to message me and be friend with me. :)

Some of my fav. quotes below so you know how boring I am:

"The slower my learning progress is, the later the prosperity of Japan comes."
--Furuichi Kōi
(Yes that nationalism is quite stupid but as a Hongkongese, I found this very encouraging and moving)

"All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian, or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."
--Thomas Paine
(I understand the social functions of religions I can guarantee you that but I am more into deism so far)

“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
--Seneca the Younger
(Useful indeed, isn't it?)

“In the age of information, ignorance is a choice.”
--Donny Miller
(Quite a popular one so I'd skip explaining)

"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”
--Benjamin Franklin
(Quite a goal for me since one of my biggest goals is to promote Hong Kong Yue Chinese literature but I'm lazy so I'm still on my way)

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.”
--Oscar Wilde
(Not trying to be sarcastic)

Last but not least, please include "Hi hongkongese" in your request, thank you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting people is another way to exploring the world, I believe. The boredom of living in Hong Kong is another reason.
