We are two twenty somethings who have both decided to give up our jobs back home in Scotland to go travelling for as long as possible. Erin finished university in 2016 with a degree in History and History of Art and Daniel has finished spending five years becoming a carpenter. We have now been travelling for over a year and are planning to spend a year here in Australia exploring this HUGE country!! We will be here until March 2019. We love spending time in unique places with people who are passionate about travelling and adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Both and and Daniel are travelling for as long as possible and are looking for interesting and different places to stay across the world. We want to meet as many new people as possible and really get to know the cities that we are visiting rather than just spectating and being typical tourists. We want to meet new friendly people along our journey and Couchsurfing is the best way to do that!

Music, Movies, and Books

We LOVE music. Back home we both go to as many live gigs as possible and try and support local bands. Daniel is a singer songwriter and plays gigs across inverness and Scotland and is keen to discuss music with anyone anywhere. Both of us enjoy music by, Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam, Alt-J, The Beatles, Ben Howard, John Mayer, Green Day and so many more.
Daniel sticks to the classics more and loves Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, Audioslave and Soundgarden. Eddie Vedder is his idol and has seen Pearl Jam twice.
Erin is a massive fan of the Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, The XX and The Smiths.
Films?! there are too many for us to pick but we love a good movie with a good storyline. For both of us Into the Wild is up there with our favourite films and books. Obviously Star Wars has to be mentioned because Daniel is obsessed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think both of us would agree that going to Alaska and climbing numerous mountains, visiting glaciers and hiking in Denali National Park is our most memorable time together and probably the most amazing thing we've ever done. We also spent almost three months exploring Indonesia and hiked a number of volcanoes at sunrise and hiked with Oranguatans, these are probably some of the best things we did while in Asia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Both of us have a good sense of adventure and sense of humour and don't take ourselves too seriously. We would class ourselves as easy to get on with could spend hours talking about everything and anything. Both of us are 100% foodies and love both a good meal and a good beer. We can share funny stories from our travels. We are always up for a laugh and love spending time with new people from all over the world!
