About Me

I am more than happy to try cultural delicacies. Eating bizarre things comes pretty naturally for us Chinese. The weirdest thing I've eaten was a guinea pig - and strangely enough, I REALLY enjoyed it.

I've grown up and lived in Vancouver, Canada my entire life. I spent this past year earning my teaching degree. Before that, I was working in the non-profit sector until I took a trip to Peru and realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life working with kids and making a difference in the community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done a lot of travelling with my family and some as a solo traveller. I have found that my best traveling experiences have always included doing off the beaten path things or interacting with the locals!

I love sharing travel stories and meeting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I love the idea of traveling to discover what the life of a local is truly like. They tend to have the best recommendations on what to do. And honestly, I hate feeling like a tourist- being cattled like sheep for a 5 second photo-opp at some cheesy viewpoint... blargh!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 5 day trek through the Peruvian mountains on our way to Machu Picchu where I saw the most incredible views and met the kindest and warmest people! Also, biking around the Irish island of Inis Mor by myself, catching the beautiful cliffs of Dun Aonghasa.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a teacher, so I strongly believe in self-improvement. Teaching what you know, and learning from others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you some Mandarin, and a few notes on the guitar or piano. I love learning how to cook different recipes because I'm a shitty cook but a great sous-chef. If there's a dance floor, I can promise I will be on it with a beer in hand.
