A 24-year-old student. I have a strong interest in South Africa and I am currently based in Joburg for a master thesis research period. I am very passionate about what I do and study. I love to learn and understand the complexity of the world by watching it with my own eyes. I would love to make the world a better place and I try to play a small part in it. I have an unconditional love for all animals, but, I admit, deep down I am a dog person (though I have a soft spot for cats as well). I have lived many years in Beijing as a child (and no, I don't speak Chinese as fluently as you can imagine, but there is an ongoing battle between me and this wonderful language); this amazing life experience left me as open minded as it could.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have favourites, it would be too long a list. I enjoy reading novels and really all kind of books I can connect with, which make me feel something. Someone said that reading books was like living countless lives and adventures. Well, I believe that each and every character of a book I've loved lives in me somewhere.
I am not such a cinema addict, but I truly appreciate a good movie. My guilty pleasure are tv shows, I confess.
I listen to all kinds of music, and when I encounter an artist who I particularly appreciate I try to learn the most I can on him/her. I especially enjoy the "old times rock n roll" of the past. But I'm really open to anything, from jazz to ethnic, from Italian and French music to light pop tunes. Basically anything I can sing and dance (and think) along.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have you ever been to a house in the mountains? Not in a mountain village or town. I mean on the side of a mountain, with nothing else there in hundreds and hundreds of meters (except deers and nature). Well, waking up to that is amazing. Quite simple.
