Présentation
À propos de moi
A Vietnamese native, I was born and raised in Hanoi. I lived in the UK for 6 years for my education and also did a gap year learning Mandarin Chinese at Fudan University in Shanghai. I just completed a MSc in Media and Communications at the LSE one month ago.
I recently made a decision to go back to Vietnam as I was tired of living in Europe and I also want to establish a career in Asia. I'm living at home in Hanoi at the moment, and will remain there at least until next January.
I can speak fluent English and decent Mandarin Chinese, and can read in both languages. I am very eager to learn more about cultures, languages, and history of other countries. I have a keen interest in Asia, but I'm open to everything.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I'm planning to backpack to Taiwan for two weeks. I want to make friends and practice my Chinese language skills, and I have friends recommending Couchsurfing to me, so why not?
At the moment I don't have a definite place to stay where I can host people but I will update as soon as I know where I'm going to next. Otherwise, if you are in town, I'm always happy to show you around. :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I particularly like Jazz and Soul, but I also listen to other types of music that make me feel happy :) Indicative artists that I like: Amy Winehouse, The Beatles, Breakbot, Mac Demarco, Khalil Fong, Tatsuro Yamashita, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
I like films that explore issues of identity, gender, and culture. Indicative films that I like: Little Miss Sunshine, The Wedding Banquet, Juno, Thelma and Louise, Lost in Translation, and Happy Together (which I think is like the coolest film ever made).
I don't have a habit of reading books regularly but I read The New Yorker magazine religiously. The most recent book I have completed is Patricia Highsmith's The Price of Salt. It's an extraordinary book and I would highly recommend it.
Oh, and I like beer. A lot. Especially Japanese beer. :)
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I went hiking to Trolltunga in Norway in September 2016. During the first hour, I threw up three times and got expelled from my group. However, I didn't like the idea of going back, and so when I saw someone coming up from below, I asked him whether I could join him. He said yes and I just followed him and ended up making it to the cliff even before my original group.
